On Monday, July 27, publisher Shōnengahōsha dropped the bombshell that Akira Kasugai’s hit manga Millennium Family (Odoru Sennen Kazoku) is officially getting a television anime adaptation, complete with a gorgeous teaser visual and a first trailer that has the fandom buzzing.
What Is Millennium Family?
If you haven’t caught up with the manga yet, here’s the elevator pitch: seven siblings who were born with the ultimate gift — immortality — spend their long lives as targets. Every shady organization on the planet wants to study them, exploit them, or harvest them. After centuries of being scattered across the globe, the extraordinary family finally reunites for a thrilling new chapter in their lives. It’s a wild mix of action, supernatural comedy, and found-family warmth that has made the series a cult favorite since it launched in Young King OURs magazine back in March 2021.
The manga currently has eight volumes in circulation, with the ninth volume hitting shelves on July 30, 2026. English-speaking fans can also get in on the action: Orange Inc is licensing the series in English, so the manga is officially available outside Japan.
The Dream Team Behind the Anime
This isn’t just any adaptation — the staff lineup is seriously stacked. PartsCraft is handling the animation, with Masato Jinbo directing and supervising the scripts. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Jinbo previously directed fan favorites like Senryu Girl and Restaurant to Another World — both praised for their warm character work and comedic timing, which bodes incredibly well for Millennium Family’s blend of humor and heart.
Joining him is Hiroshi Yoneda as character designer and chief animation director. With Yoneda shaping the look of the seven immortal siblings, fans are already speculating about how the manga’s expressive, detailed art will translate to the screen.
Who’s Voicing Theo?
The first cast member has been revealed, and it’s a great pick. Rikuya Yasuda stars as Theo, one of the immortal siblings. Yasuda’s casting has generated plenty of excitement on social media, with fans already debating which sibling he’ll bring to life and how his performance will capture the character’s centuries-old weariness mixed with childlike wonder.

There are a few reasons this announcement hit differently. When Does It Air?
While an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, the anime is scheduled to air on TBS and other networks, with a projected 2027 premiere window. That gives the team at PartsCraft plenty of time to do the source material justice — and gives fans even more time to theorize about what’s coming next.
