For years, Castlevania fans thought Konami had abandoned the franchise forever. After pachislot machines and radio silence, the whip-cracking vampire saga was practically declared dead. But Konami just proved everyone wrong — and they brought the Netflix series’ most iconic voices along for the ride.
During Sony’s State of Play presentation, Konami officially revealed the English voice cast for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, and the lineup is stacked with familiar names that will make any Netflix Castlevania fan lose their mind.
The Netflix Cast Is Back — And They Sound Incredible
The biggest surprise? Graham McTavish is returning as Count Dracula. The Scottish actor delivered one of the most memorable Dracula performances in animation history across Netflix’s four-season Castlevania series, and he’s bringing that same gravitas to the game. Not to be outdone, Alejandra Reynoso is also reprising her role as Sypha Belnades — this time as Rose Belmont’s mother.
But it gets better. Liam O’Brien is returning as Isaac, a role he first voiced over 20 years ago in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness on the PS2. That’s the kind of legacy casting that shows Konami actually cares about getting this right.
A Star-Studded New Generation
Leading the charge as the new protagonist Rose Belmont is Abby Trott, the voice actress known for playing Nezuko Kamado in Demon Slayer and Magik in Marvel Rivals. She’s joined by JB Blanc as Trevor Belmont and Dawn M. Bennett as Carmilla, rounding out what might be the most impressive voice cast in Castlevania history.
The game is being developed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin — the studio behind the critically acclaimed Dead Cells — as a 2D action-adventure Metroidvania RPG. If anyone understands how to make tight, responsive 2D combat, it’s the team that nailed it with Dead Cells.
Konami Says This Is Just the Beginning
Perhaps the most exciting part of this whole reveal isn’t the game itself — it’s what Konami said about the future. Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the original Akumajo Dracula release in Japan, Konami launched a celebratory website with a bold message: “This is the beginning of numerous new products around Castlevania.”
For a franchise that spent years synonymous with gambling machines, that statement is seismic. Whether it means more games, animated projects, or merchandise — Konami is clearly signaling that Castlevania is back in a major way.
When Can You Play It?
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches on October 15, 2026 for PlayStation 5, with additional platforms likely to follow. With less than two months to go, expect a flood of gameplay reveals and character deep dives in the coming weeks.
Between the Dead Cells pedigree, the Netflix voice cast reunion, and Konami’s promises of a full franchise revival, Belmont’s Curse might just be the Castlevania game fans have been waiting over a decade for.
