Bleach TYBW The Calamity Premieres July 25: Studio Pierrot Just Dropped the Final Trailer and Fans Are Not Ready

After four years of breathtaking animation, soul-crushing cliffhangers, and some of the most gorgeous fight choreography in modern anime, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is about to end it all. Part 4 — subtitled The Calamity — premieres on July 25, 2026, and Studio Pierrot just dropped the final trailer that has the entire anime community in a chokehold.

If you thought Cour 3’s showdown between Ichibe Hyosube and Yhwach was intense, you are not ready for what is coming next.

The Calamity: What We Know So Far

Studio Pierrot confirmed during Anime Expo 2026 that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 — The Calamity will premiere on July 25 at 23:00 JST on TV Tokyo, with simultaneous streaming on Hulu in the United States and Disney Plus internationally. The final trailer, revealed at the AX 2026 panel by Viz Media, showcases never-before-seen footage of the climactic battle between Ichigo Kurosaki and Yhwach, the Quincy Emperor who nearly destroyed the Soul Society.

The trailer also gives us glimpses of Yoruichi Shihoin in her lightning Goddess form, Sosuke Aizen being released from Muken to join the fight, Kenpachi Zaraki unleashing his Bankai, and Kisuke Urahara executing a plan that could change the fate of all three worlds. The animation quality in the trailer alone rivals theatrical films — Pierrot has clearly gone all out for this finale.

Opening and Ending Theme Songs Revealed

The opening theme song for The Calamity is I-BULL performed by jo0ji, a rising artist in the Japanese music scene known for blending rock with electronic elements. The choice is fitting — I-BULL delivers an aggressive, driving sound that matches the desperate tone of the final battle against the Quincy army.

The ending theme, Rasen (meaning Spiral), is performed by 9Lana. The song offers a more melancholic, reflective tone — likely serving as an emotional counterpoint to the devastation that the final episodes will bring. Given that Tite Kubo has hinted at anime-original content and a conclusion that may differ from the manga, these songs could carry more narrative weight than typical anime themes.

Ichigo vs Yhwach: The Final Showdown

Let us be honest — the manga version of Ichigo’s final battle with Yhwach left many fans wanting more. The fight was abruptly cut short, and Yhwach’s defeat felt rushed. But here is where things get interesting: Tite Kubo himself confirmed that The Calamity will feature anime-original content, with a conclusion that may be separate from the manga’s ending.

This is massive. It means Studio Pierrot, working directly with Kubo, is essentially giving fans the battle they always wanted. The trailer shows Ichigo activating what appears to be a new Zangetsu form — combining both his Quincy and Hollow powers in a way we have never seen. The visual of his blade shattering Yhwach’s reiatsu is already being called the single most impressive frame of animation in 2026.

And then there is the question of Aizen. The former captain of Squad 5, locked away in Muken for thousands of years, is finally stepping back onto the battlefield. The trailer shows him using his Kyoka Suigetsu against Yhwach — and if you know anything about Aizen’s illusions, you know this changes everything about how the final battle plays out.

Why This Is Not Just Another Anime Finale

Bleach has been part of the anime landscape for over two decades. Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai, Byakuya Kuchiki, Toshiro Hitsugaya — these characters have grown alongside an entire generation of fans. The Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation has been Studio Pierrot’s redemption arc, proving that with the right budget and creative vision, Bleach can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best of modern anime, standing alongside hits like Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3.

The Calamity is not just wrapping up a story. It is the culmination of a journey that started in 2004, survived cancellation rumors, endured a years-long anime hiatus, and came back stronger than anyone expected, much like how Frieren Season 3 is pushing boundaries this same season. Director Tomohisa Tagashira and series composer Masaki Hiramatsu have already delivered three flawless cours — and all signs point to the fourth being their magnum opus.
