Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood just made one of its biggest announcements of Fall 2026 yet. The anime’s Nikko Kegon Falls Arc got confirmed new voice cast members, theme songs, and an exact premiere date on Saturday September 19—making it one of the most anticipated upcoming seasons right now.
If you’ve been following this dark fantasy series since it first debuted back in July 2025, this might be the moment where things genuinely start falling into place. After surviving intense battles in both Kyoto and Nerima, Shiki Ichinose and his fellow Rasetsu Academy students are growing stronger. But here is the twist that has everyone talking: Yaoroshi rejects Mudano’s lessons on the importance of friendship and decides to leave, drawn into the Oni Brigade’s ideology under General Hayate Todoroki.
New Cast Members Strengthen the Ranks
The latest announcement from REMOW confirmed three major additions to the voice cast. Kenichi Suzumura joins as Kusabi Momoura, serving as chief of the Momotaro Agency Kegon Falls Branch—a position that sounds important enough to cause trouble. Yuki Kaji steps into the role of Hizumi Momotsugi, who serves as the 10th Unit Captain of the Kegon Falls Branch Laboratory. Then there is Kisho Taniyama, who will portray Senritsu Momoo, the 3rd Unit Vice-Captain of the same branch laboratory. All three are veterans known for their powerful roles across countless anime series.
Theme Songs That Set the Tone
Hiromitsu Kitayama performs the opening theme “Backlash,” while TRACK15 delivers the ending theme “Hand in Hand.” The contrast between a hard-hitting opener and a softer closer perfectly mirrors the tension building within the story’s central conflict about loyalty, belonging, and what happens when your own comrade starts seeing things differently than you do.
The arc picks up after the events in Kyoto and Nerima. When Shiki realizes that the Oni Brigade’s creed makes even noncombatants targets for slaughter, he sets out to find Yaoroshi alongside Mudano and other students. Their destination is Nikko, where Kegon Falls stopped flowing some time ago, and a massive research facility has since been built—where horrific experiments are underway.
When and Where to Watch
Before the official October 2 debut, two special recap episodes will air on September 30 for the Kyoto arc and October 1 for the Nerima arc. For viewers outside Japan, Tougen Anki streams simultaneously on Netflix worldwide (outside Japan), Crunchyroll with English dub available, Amazon Prime Video, Rakuten Viki, and numerous other platforms depending on region. The anime originally premiered in July 2025 and adapts Yura Urushibara’s manga published in Weekly Shonen Champion by Akita Shoten.
Anime director Ato Nonaka and writer Yukie Sugiwara at Studio Hibari have kept the momentum going with every season, and this third arc feels like it could redefine everything we thought we knew about the characters.
What Do You Think?
