Kagurabachi Anime Just Cast Two Fan-Favorite Characters — and One of Them Has Been Top Secret Until Now

Two Fan Favorites Just Got Their Voices

On Friday, August 28, the production committee behind the Kagurabachi anime — Shochiku, Crunchyroll, and CyberAgent — unveiled two more cast members alongside fresh English-subtitled character promotional videos. If you’ve been following Takeru Hokazono’s manga, these are names you’ve been waiting to hear.

• Miku Itō as Hinao — the charming information broker who runs the rumor hub at “Cafe Haru Haru,” quietly connecting clients with sorcerers in the underground world of enchanted blades.
• Miyari Nemoto as Char Kyonagi — the cheerful, courageous young girl who ends up on the run for reasons she can’t even fully explain. Fans of the manga know her arc gets wild fast.

Itō is no stranger to beloved roles — she’s a veteran voice actress known for standout performances in franchises like Date A Live and Love Live! Sunshine!! — while Nemoto brings fresh energy to one of the manga’s most endearing characters.

The Cast So Far: A Lineup That’s Already Stacked

The newcomers join a cast that has been turning heads since day one:

• Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira, the revenge-driven protagonist who wields his father’s cursed blade.

Then something unexpected happened: people actually read it. And it was actually great.

The series went on to top the print category at the Next Manga Awards 2024, earned nominations at the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards, the 49th Kodansha Manga Awards, and even the 2025 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. Circulation has exploded past 4 million copies, and Viz Media is releasing the manga in English in print while Shonen Jump and MANGA Plus handle digital.

April 2027 Is Closer Than You Think

The anime premieres in April 2027, streaming worldwide that month — excluding Japan, Mainland China, North Korea, and South Korea. But you don’t have to wait that long for a taste. The production’s “world tour” has already hit Anime Expo in Los Angeles, Japan Expo in Paris, ANImagic in Mannheim, Germany, and Anime NYC in New York — screening the first 20 minutes of episode one to roaring crowds.
