Stop scrolling. If you thought the fall 2026 anime season was already stacked, one announcement just made it even more dangerous for your watchlist. Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle is officially returning with its second part on October 13, and the brand-new promo video has fans buzzing like never before.
For a series that started as a beloved light novel by Hiromu with illustrations by raemz, this is the comeback rom-com fans have been waiting for. And judging by the hype, Team Chitose is about to own your autumn evenings.
The October 13 Premiere Nobody Saw Coming This Fast
The announcement dropped on September 11 via a fresh promo video confirming that the anime’s second part begins airing October 13. The series, produced by studio Feel, premiered its first cour back on October 7, 2025, and ran through March 2026 as part of a split-cour 26-episode run.
That means fans waited roughly half a year for the payoff – and now the second half of the story is finally here. Directed by Yuji Tokuno with series composition by Naruhisa Arakawa alongside original author Hiromu himself, the production keeps its core creative team intact.
Who Is Saku Chitose, and Why Does Everyone Love Him?
At the center of it all is Saku Chitose, voiced by Shogo Sakata in the anime. He is not your typical rom-com protagonist. Saku is the popular class president of Fuji High School, leader of the infamous Team Chitose, a former baseball enthusiast who now coasts through school life fully aware that half the girls in class are crushing on him.
Here is the twist: Saku wants nothing to do with romance. He prefers solitude. He dodges confessions like dodgeballs. And that emotional distance is exactly what makes the drama hit so hard when the people around him start falling apart – and he is the only one who can put them back together.
The story kicks off when a teacher asks Saku to convince shut-in student Kenta Yamazaki to return to school. From there, Saku, Yuuko Hiiragi, and the rest of Team Chitose take on the messy emotional problems of their classmates, one heartbreak at a time.
Team Chitose: The Cast That Carries the Whole Show
Let us talk about the lineup, because this ensemble is stacked:
- Yuuko Hiiragi (voiced by Manaka Iwami) – tennis club beauty, hopelessly in love with Saku, who feels absolutely nothing back. Her unrequited arc is brutal and beautiful.
- Yua Uchida (voiced by Hina Yomiya) – fellow Team Chitose member whose cheerful energy hides deeper insecurities.
- Yuzuki Nanase, Haru Aomi, and Asuka Nishino round out a friend group that feels real in a way most school anime never manage.
Voice actors Junpei Baba and Kana Asumi previously brought these characters to life in the drama CDs and audiobooks, but the anime cast has fully made the roles their own. The music by Yoshiaki Fujisawa gives every emotional scene that extra punch.
From Light Novel Legend to Anime Breakout
Do not sleep on the source material. Shogakukan published the first volume under its Gagaga Bunko imprint in June 2019, and the series now spans 9 volumes plus 3 short story collections. Yen Press licenses it in English, and the manga adaptation by Bobcat ran in Square Enix’s Manga Up! from April 2020 to February 2025 across 8 volumes.
The anime is licensed by Remow with Medialink handling Southeast Asia, airing across AT-X, Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, SUN, FBC, TVA, and BS11. That is a massive broadcast footprint for a rom-com – proof the industry believes in this one.
Why Part 2 Could Be the Best Romance of Fall 2026
Fall 2026 is crowded. There is no denying it. But Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle occupies a lane almost nobody else does: grounded, emotionally intelligent school drama without fantasy gimmicks, isekai cheats, or supernatural twists. Just teenagers, messy feelings, and one infuriatingly charismatic boy who refuses to fall in love.
The first cour adapted the early light novel volumes and ended on notes that left readers grinning – because they know what comes next. Without spoiling anything: the second half digs deeper into Yuuko’s feelings, Saku’s past, and the cracks forming inside Team Chitose itself. If the promo video is anything to go by, Feel is animating these moments with genuine care.
Mark your calendar: October 13. Clear your evening. Tell your group chat. Team Chitose is back.
What Do You Think?
