Ichigo Kurosaki has a brand-new Bankai form called Blood Chains — and here is the wildest part: this form does not exist in Tite Kubo’s manga. Every strategy, every ally sacrifice, every desperate attack has fallen short.
But Blood Chains Ichigo is different. The visual shows Ichigo surrounded by dark chains that seem to pulse with Hollow energy, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly intensity. The design is raw, primal, and terrifyingly beautiful. This is Tite Kubo at his absolute peak — and he is doing it in an anime-only form.
Yuki Kaji, who recently joined the voice cast as the adult version of Toshiro Hitsugaya, is also part of this cour. And Toshiro himself just revealed his own Bankai abilities alongside Zaraki Kenpachi in earlier episodes. The power scaling in Part 4 is going absolutely crazy.
The Manga Purist Question: Does This Hold Up?
Here is where things get interesting. Tite Kubo confirmed before Part 4 premiered that this final cour would have even more original content than the previous three parts. The manga’s final arc, while beloved, was notoriously rushed due to Kubo’s health issues during serialization. The franchise returned in 2022 with the TYBW adaptation, and this final part is proving that BLEACH still has some of the most creative and visually stunning battles in all of anime.
On top of the anime, BLEACH is also getting a new game called BLEACH: Mirrors High, featuring original character designs by Tite Kubo himself. A BLEACH JET artbook and Ryogo Narita’s School Life novel are also making a comeback, with a fan vote and a 2027 exhibition announced.
The BLEACH franchise is not just surviving — it is thriving. And Blood Chains Ichigo is the proof.
