MAPPA’s 15th Anniversary Event Was a Nuclear Bomb of Anime Announcements — Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, Dorohedoro and More

On June 19, 2026, legendary animation studio MAPPA held a livestreamed event to celebrate its 15th aiversary — and what fans got was nothing short of an avalanche of reveals that will define the anime landscape for the next two years. If you thought Anime Expo 2026 would be the biggest anime event of the summer, MAPPA just said “hold my beer.”

Founded in 2011 and headquartered iagano, Japan, MAPPA has grown from a scrappy upstart into one of the most influential anime studios on the planet. With Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Dorohedoro under its belt, the studio’s 15th aiversary celebration was always going to be a big deal. But nobody expected this many bombs to drop in a single stream.

Chainsaw Man — The Assassins Arc Arrives

The first major reveal was a brand-new trailer for Chainsaw Man: The Assassins Arc, showcasing the unhinged lineup of international killers coming after Denji. The trailer was pure chaos — exactly what you’d expect from a series built on controlled insanity. Kobeni’s car even made a cameo, because of course it did.

While MAPPA hasn’t confirmed whether the Assassins Arc will be a TV season or a theatrical release, the trailer alone was enough to send the internet into meltdown. The studio also dropped a surprise aouncement: a Chainsaw Man mobile gacha game is in development, with its opening movie set to “All the lynch!!! All the mince!!” by Maximum the Hormone. If that song title doesn’t get you hyped, nothing will.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 — The Culling Game Continues

Just months after Season 3 wrapped, MAPPA confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Arc Part 2 is “diligently in production.” The teaser showcased what appeared to be finished animation cuts, suggesting the wait might be shorter than fans feared.

The event also featured a special “JuJu Talk” segment with voice actors Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori) and Megumi Ogata (Yuta Okkotsu), who shared their excitement about the upcoming arc. Ogata’s involvement hints at a much larger role for Yuta in the next stretch of the story — something manga readers have been waiting for.

Dorohedoro Season 3 — Nikaido Awakens

For fans of MAPPA’s most beautifully chaotic anime, the confirmation of Dorohedoro Season 3 was the highlight of the night. The teaser trailer came with a dramatic message: “NIKAIDO AWAKENS. THE CROSS-EYE BOSS’ FACE PEELS OFF. SAJI BECOMES A PIE.” If you know Dorohedoro, that sentence makes perfect sense. If you don’t — buckle up, because this series is unlike anything else in anime.

Season 2 only just finished airing in Spring 2026 (check our Dorohedoro S2 coverage), so the quick renewal shows MAPPA has serious confidence in the series. It streams exclusively oetflix worldwide.

Ranma 1/2 Season 3 — October Debut oetflix

The beloved Ranma 1/2 remake is getting a third season, arriving in October 2026. The new trailer spotlighted the classic rivalry between Ranma and Ryoga over their mutual love interest Akane. The remake, based on Rumiko Takahashi’s iconic manga, has been one of Netflix’s biggest anime wins, and Season 3 looks to keep that momentum going.

New Netflix Originals — Jimoto Saiko! and Beat & Motion

MAPPA isn’t just doubling down on existing franchises. The studio aounced two brand-new series for Netflix:

  • Jimoto Saiko! — An absurdist dark comedy about a small delinquent girl navigating her dumpster-fire hometown. The trailer showed her doing hard drugs and pointing a revolver at someone. It’s based on the manga by usagi / Saizusha and arrives in 2027.
  • Beat & Motion — A showbiz drama about Tatsuhiko, a young man who gave up on his dream of making anime, and Nico, an indie musician who reignites his passion. Based oaoki Fujita’s manga serialized in Shōnen Jump Plus.

Fall in Love, You False Angels — A New Romance

The event also revealed Fall in Love, You False Angels, a romance about a seemingly perfect student president and her vice president who both harbor dark secrets. It’s set for a 2027 release.

What This Means for Anime

MAPPA’s 15th aiversary wasn’t just a celebration — it was a power move. With Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Dorohedoro, and Ranma 1/2 all getting new seasons, plus three entirely new series on the way, the studio is making it clear: they’re not slowing down. If anything, they’re accelerating.

The Netflix partnership is particularly telling. With Jimoto Saiko!, Beat & Motion, and Ranma 1/2 all heading to the platform, MAPPA is clearly betting big on global streaming reach. Combined with their theatrical and TV projects, the studio is covering every possible distribution angle.

What Do You Think?

Which MAPPA aouncement got you the most hyped? Are you Team Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc, or is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 your top priority? And be honest — did anyone have “Dorohedoro Season 3 confirmed within months of Season 2” on their bingo card? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
